Storm in a Thai cup πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡β˜•️

So when a tropical storm hit Nai Yang last night, we ate dinner under a tiki bar type, beach restaurant called Sea Almond bar and restaurant, with the biggest raindrops hitting the little bamboo roof and street dogs joining us for shelter.

Speaking of street dogs, I dropped a bag full of bandages and fluid lines at Soi dog rescue, the hospital I used to work at here in Phuket. I am grateful to the hospitals I work at now for their donations and I have even more supplies to post when I return to London. Every little helps although I see a vast improvement in the numbers and condition of the dogs since I was working here in 2009.

Anyway, it was a massaman curry for me, served with a cute roti bread- sensational. Richard opted for garlic and pepper chicken and his new obsession stir fried morning glory πŸ˜‚ yum! He also couldn’t resist the banana split for dessert.

Today we have moved on to the lesser touched island Koh Yao Yai. Our resort is the charming Heaven, with a beautiful infinity pool and a handful of real local restaurants. Already we have tested the snorkelling, bumping in to a colossal purple jellyfish.

Tomorrow may bring a cycle around the island, Thai massage or canoeing in the  mangroves.

So what have I been using and wearing? I’ve done a lot of sunbathing over the years and I should’ve taken more care of my skin… I’m only now realising. This holiday, I’m using Benefit Dream Screen silky-matte sunscreen. It’s SPF 45 and I use it on my face. I love it.

I’ve got in to swimsuits this year too. My cute pink ‘Miami’ one is Boohoo and my black ‘vacation vibes’ one is Primark!!!!!
