Earth day

April 22nd is ‘Earth day‘, a celebration of the modern environmental movement in 1970.

As I’ve just read, 1970 brought the death of Jimi Hendrix, the last Beatles album, and Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water.

The idea of Earth day was to focus on environmental issues and as we’ve heard in recent months all about our horrendous plastic habits, I thought via my blog I could help in the fashion side of things by promoting second hand clothing!

Since I went to uni in good old Camden and became obsessed with trawling the vintage stores, I love a pre-loved item of fashion. There’s nothing more exciting than shopping in a place that only has one of each item and thinking about the history. Plus, 60s and 70s trends are the best ever!

So why not pop down to your local charity shop that you always pass by? You never know what you’ll find! A great basket bag? A sequin festival dress? My best second hand buy were Levi’s denim cut offs in a Melbourne charity shop. They fit perfect and I’ve had them about 8 years!
