A year ago on August 26th, we had the festival celebration of our wedding. It was simply fab! Nothing went wrong and it was the best three day festival ever!
We both love a festival and wanted a wedding that wasn’t over in one day so we decided on a three dayer and make it like a proper festival! We chose bank holiday August for the extra day but I was slightly concerned, as choosing my home country Wales for the venue, the likelihood it would rain at this time is massive…. wrong! We had three days of proper sunshine and even my Aussie mates got sunburn!
Anyway, a year later, we’ve travelled loads including the Maldives for honeymoon, I’ve quit my job, we’ve bought a cottage to rent out in Wales and we move next weekend to a new London home! Wow!
Our proper legal marriage anniversary is in January so we have already celebrated once with cute London meal at ‘Sketch’ for that one. But we’re going to celebrate both right?

For the August anniversary, we went to ‘The Mulberry Inn’ in Glyn Ceiriog, Llangollen. It’s a country inn set in a valley with an 18th century bar. The log fire was on! It is officially Autumn as the temperatures have dropped…. cry!
We had a three course meal and wine (obvs) which was delish. We both chose garlic mushrooms on focaccia to start and I opted for a fisherman’s platter as my main. It was salmon, cod and prawns with a potato salad, yummy!! Richard had the lamb pie and we both had welsh fruit cake (bara brith) with custard for dessert! Highly recommended!
A new indie bar has opened in my hometown of Wrexham called ‘The Parish‘ so we went there after for a gin and to listen to some live music.
But back to London it is now, to pack for the house move…. argh!!!
