The next stage of our Italy trip ( first blog here), was the ferry across to Sorrento. There was a drop off in Capri too so we did see its beauty but didn’t have enough time to actually vist (we will return!).

When we arrived we went straight for a little lunch of mussels and salad and then tried to get a taxi to our hotel which was about 2km out of the centre. Yet again, Italy your taxis are so expensive! 25 euros for 2km, what???? so we decided to walk, which wasn’t too bad except the first bit which was climbing steps up the cliff ….sweaty!
Anyway, we arrived in our little bungalow and spent the afternoon lazing by the pool as it was 28 degress! That evening we wanted to visit a restaurant that had amazing reviews. It’s called ‘Il Leone Rosso Ristorante Pizzeria‘ which is bascially ‘The red Lion pizza restaurant’.
Slip dress, Urban outfitters £46
We sat near to the pizza ovens so were able to watch the chefs in action. I got an Italian sausage with onions and garlic pizza and Richard got a bolognese pizza. The local wine was amazing and we managed to fit an icecream sundae in too!
The next day we strolled to find a beach nearby. There are a few good ones but you have to walk down the cliff so be prepared for a steep climbs back up at the end of the day. We chose ‘ Lido Metamare‘ which was full of little beach houses and boats. Richard snorkelled and I swam so much, it was beautiful.
Swimsuit, Monki £15
At lunch, we’d passed a very traditional looking little restaurant in the cliff face that we just had to try. It was called ‘Tico Tico‘ and as it was a Sunday, lots of family were eating. I had an aubergine parmigiana and it was beaut!
Slogan tee, ‘The Deep end club’ for ‘and other stories’ £35
In the evening, it was back to Sorrento centre for some drinks. It is common to get some snacks with any drinks you order which is lovely!. We had everything from crisps and nuts to bruchetta and even little plates fish/pasta!
Basket bag, Dirty disco Similar here £17.50

On our last day, I wanted to visit Positano. We got a bus from Sorrento which took about 50 minutes and cost about 9 euros! Positano is just stunning as you can tell from the pics.
Polka dot slip dress, Asos SALE £11
Again, a steep walk up and down the cliff face but it is so worth it. The water was amazing and if you look back at the cliff from the sea, the pastel colours of the buildings are just beautiful! It is always very busy and I wouldn’t say the food in the beach front restaurants was anything to share but Positano is definitely worth the visit. I liked all the quaint shops and boutiques on the windy streets.

Stripe swimsuit, Boohoo £20
Our last dinner was the hotel porter’s recommendation and it may have been my fave! It was a very traditonal and cheap eat called ‘Pepinos‘! I had salmon pasta with tomato salad and bread which was amazing!
Bye Italy! Until next time!
