This year, on Halloween, we are doing nothing! Well we are meeting my uncle for a pub dinner! Am I getting old??? I’ve almost always dressed up, had a house party or gone out to some London warehouse or pub but not this year! The closest thing I’ve got to a pumpkin this year was roasting it and eating it on Sunday! What I am hoping for this year is a few ‘trick or treat’ kids at our new house, as I have lots of sweets to give away!
Anyway, I did want to discuss all the lovely fashion I’ve seen on the high street this week. It mainly involves sequins (massive fan) and velvet (massive fan of how it looks but I cannot touch it without shuddering!) and oranges and purples.
First up, some sequins. I see these every year but I never know when I can wear them or how to style them. I bought a sequin top from Zara for our Maldives honeymoon last year and dressed it down with Levis denim shorts and I wore a white sequin dress for our wedding afterparty with converse. Here are my top picks:
Sequin wrap dress, Boohoo £55
Sequin dress, ASOS £75
Sequin dress, Very £45
Purple sequin wrap dress, ASOS £48
Sequin top, Newlook £22.99
Sequins bag, Nasty Gal £25
On to the best of the velvet pieces:
Velvet bag, Topshop £25
Pink velvet bag, Topshop £25
Leopard print velvet dress, Stradivarius £29.99
orange rust velvet boots, ASOS £35
Velvet lilac beret, Newlook £9.99
Leopard print dress, Newlook £26
And the pieces I’ve purchased recently are this bright pink Topshop velvet number which I plan to wear this weekend on Richards Birthday!
Pink velvet dress, Topshop £39
This perfect Primark dress for only £13 comes in emerald green and purple. I got the purple one!
Velvet dress, Primark £13
I’d also really love to get this Zara dress with sheer sleeves and neck tie but I’m trying to hold back due to the cost!
Red velvet dress, Zara £99.99
Enjoy your sequins and velvet!
