A Rosey weekend

For Richards birthday I chose ‘The Rose’ hotel in Deal, Kent. He’s mentioned how amazing the interior is in this boutique guest house so many times and I’ve seen many an Instagram show it off, so I booked!

We were not disappointed. This hotel is nestled in the heart of a charming seaside town called Deal with only 8 bedrooms to chose from (this however, was a difficult choice as they are all perfect!). I chose room number 7 for its beautiful coloured furniture and green vintage jungle bathroom.

A two hour drive from London, we arrived in the afternoon. You can also easily get a train to Deal from London ( 1 hour 22 minutes for the fast one or 2 hours on the slow one) book here!

After a stroll through the town of cute boutiques, fish restaurants, charity shops and an amusement arcade, we went for some afternoon tea. It was at ‘Little Harriet’s’ and for Β£10 we got a selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones with a lot of tea!

Then it was back to ‘The Rose‘ for a cocktail before getting ready for dinner.

For dinner, being at the seaside I obviously had to choose a seafood restaurant and after reading reviews, I opted for ‘Whits of Walmer’. Again, we were not disappointed. The service was excellent. It’s a small venue with seaside decor. We opted for a mushroom and truffle soup and wasabi salmon to start then garlic lobster and plaice for mains. We chose great bottle of rosΓ© to go with it and were too full for dessert! You can book your table here.

After dinner we actually came across a fab pub called ‘The Lighthouse‘ with a dj playing vintage vinyls! A great end to the day!
