Hello! We took a little trip to Cornwall last weekend to give Wilfred some beach time (and for my birthday!). We did go last year when he was only six weeks old but he was quite ill with silent reflux then π¦

The journey was over 4 hours so I was a bit apprehensive about keeping him occupied but we bought him a new car seat so he could stretch his legs more, took lots of toys and snacks and he actually slept for 2.5 hours going!

We stayed in a beautiful cottage in a quaint village between Padstow and Newquay. The weather didn’t hold out much but we made the most of the sunny spells on Friday and Monday! Anyway, that didn’t bother Wilfred who loves being dirty and free to crawl/walk especially on sand!

On the way down we stopped off in Western-Super-mare which I have never visited before! The sun was shining and we stopped for coffee while Wilf had his lunch.

The rest of the afternoon was spent in Padstow….when we got there! Itβs where Rick Stein is from and he has his fish and chip shop and restaurant. We love watching his cooking programs!Apparently all the celebs live in βRockβ a village near by.
Saturday was a rainy trip to Newquay which actually suprised me being packed with cute coffee shops and quaint boho boutiques. There was a little store on the high street there which was full of beautiful woolen jumpers and amazing interior accessories. I wanted everything π

Sunday was my birthday and we made our way to Polzeath which is a small town near Padstow nestled on a cove with a wood fired pizza place, cafes and surf shops. Up the steep hill is ‘The Oyster Catcher‘ where I had my birthday lunch. It was absolutely delish! I had a prawn and mango salad in a Thai dressing with garlic ciabatta and Richard had mussels. We washed it down with a gorgeous Cotes de Provence rose and got takeaway cheese and a cream tea for that evening.

Our journey home took us to Lulworth cove which is stunning. The sun was out and we got a cream tea and let Wilf play on the beach for ages. He made a friend who threw sand at him but he thought it was hilarious. He also though his dad doing some cold water swimming was pretty funny too π

So, yes, I still want to live in Cornwall and I think Wilf does too π
