For the last two nights with my parents, we went to the south of Phuket. Apparently Leonardo Dicaprio was around somewhere too! The hotel had bicycles to hire so we made use of these and cycled Rawai beach. More of a locals area, it is known for Thai boxing and people from all over go to train there. There is a fish market and an obsession with chihuahuas I noticed.
Then it was goodbye to the parents and off on the last part of our Thailand adventure. After a 7 hour boats ride we arrived at my favourite of all the islands I’ve ever visited, Koh lipe. Like phi phi was about 8 years ago, it still has plenty to offer but less spoiled and it is also a marine national park so you step on the coral, you get fined!
The first night brought a wine and sunset then an amazing meal of salt fish kale, pineapple fried rice, Thai omelet and BBQ chicken.
There are a few little boutique clothes shops, my favourite being dotted around the back of rainforest bar. Silver rings and dreamcatchers prevail with intermittent vintage pieces. I even found some doctor martins. The shop owner liked my vintage silk shirt I got from Beyond retro in London. I added a pink Accessorize flower clip to the collar.
Our accommodation is a bamboo hut in the jungle and the mosquitoes are rife! We have been lighting so many incense sticks in an attempt warn them off. But I always use the Thai mosquito spray because it’s the best! It smells amazing and it’s only 60 baht! This morning we had the most amazing breakfast of granola, yougart, chia, pineapple, mango and watermelon!
And, can I just say I’ve been following London fashion week while I’ve been travelling. I have loved Molly Goddard for a while and I wish I could have my wedding dress made by her. And, can we just appreciate the sleeve design, the material and the embroidery details in the next two pictures? πππ
I also enjoyed Temperley London and of course, Topshop unique.
Tonight I found two more vintage boutiques. Myself and Richard bought pieces from’Hand’. He got a cool hipster Hawaiian shirt and I got a boho tie-dyed dress. I’m also obsessed with basket bags and there were a few unique ones here.
Thailand, you’ve been amazing yet again! See you in Borneo,
Kelly ‘Hole in my pocket’
